Everyday spending, extraordinary goodness

Premiums4Good™ is an innovative global initiative from QBE. It invests a portion of everyday insurance spending in areas creating positive environmental or social change. It's a simple way to benefit those who need it most, at no additional cost to your customers.

How does Premiums4Good work?

When customers pay us their insurance premium, we invest that money until we need it to pay claims.

Premiums4Good is an initiative that enables us to direct a portion of those premiums into investments with an additional social objective. These investments can include social impact bonds, green bonds or other social investments.

Is our mutual bank partner contributing to Premiums4Good?

By simply choosing QBE as your insurance provider, your organisation is already helping create positive change. Every LMI policy sold through a QBE mutual bank partner is contributing to QBE’s global Premiums4Good investment pool.

Does LMI contribute to Premiums4Good?

We’re delighted to advise that QBE LMI also commits 25 per cent of the lenders’ mortgage insurance (LMI) premium we receive from you into the Premiums4Good investment portfolio.

You don’t need to do anything to get started as we’ve incorporated Premiums4Good into our standard LMI offering for all exclusive mutual bank partners.

Where can I get more information?

We want you to have all the information you need to help educate your team and customers, so additional sales and promotional collateral is available from your QBE partnership manager.

What are the investments?

Together, we'll benefit a diverse range of projects, including social impact and green bonds, developing renewable energy resources, and providing water and energy to remote communities.

Social Impact Investments represent a growing investment opportunity that provides funding for initiatives with observable social benefits. For example, in social impact bonds, these may include:

  • reducing homelessness
  • improving family resilience for children at risk of being removed into foster care
  • improving school performance of children or youth from ‘at risk’ households.

Green Bonds mean an investment into projects with environmental benefits such as renewable energy, waste management and water conservation.

An example of one of our local Australian investments is the Aspire Social Impact Bond, which funds the Aspire Program. The Aspire Program is conducted by Hutt Street Centre, an Adelaide-based homelessness services specialist. The Hutt Street Centre partners with community housing providers including Common Ground Adelaide and Unity Housing, to provide a Housing First program for up to 600 people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
